Creekside in Colleyville, Texas is a gated community not far from downtown Fort Worth. Taxes are low and the living is very fine. The elementary, middle, and high schools are all highly rated. It’s one of the rare suburban neighborhoods in Texas where you don’t need your car to go buy some milk and cookies. You can find stores and restaurants about a quarter of a mile away Homes are brand new – or mighty close. It’s a young neighborhood; the oldest homes are about 5 years old.


Area vibes ranks the city of Colleyville #32 in Texas and #181 in the whole United States. That’s better than 99% of all areas! Originally a farm town, the name Colleyville organically grew over decades in reverence to Dr. Colleyville who moved to the area from Missouri in 1880. It became the area’s official name on January 10, 1956, the day Colleyville was incorporated.

Creekside at Colleyville is a gated community. The Homeowners Association (HOA) maintains the front yards, which is not typical. The neighborhood includes a greenbelt, park, walking and bike trails, and a pond with fountain.


Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District (GCISD) exceeds the state and regional achievement scores in nearly every category. 

Taylor Elementary School Taylor Elementary School 9 out of 10.  Reading, math, and science proficiency is well above the state average.

Colleyville Middle School gives Colleyville Middle School a rating of 9 out of 10. Their proficiency test scores are very high compared to Texas overall. Colleyville Middle’s Biology I proficiency score is 99% compared to 60% for Texas overall. For grades 6-8.

Colleyville Heritage High School 

Colleyville Heritage High School has a 98% 4-year graduation rate which well surpasses the state average of 90%. They also have a high rate of students passing one or more Advanced Placement (AP) exams (84%). This is 34% above the Texas state average.

Private Schools 

The Covenant Christian Academy of Colleyville ( ) offers programs from pre-K to grade 12. They have a vigorous college prep program, including the EXPLORE test in ninth grade, the PLAN test in tenth grade, and the PSAT in grades 9-11. Founded in 1971, the Waypoint Montessori offers programs for toddlers aged 14 months to sixth graders.

What’s Happening in Colleyville

Colleyville is chock full of activities in and around the Creekside neighborhood. It takes about 30 minutes to drive downtown Fort Worth. 


Dick’s Sporting Goods and Target are within walking distance. For more sophisticated shopping hit the Grapevine Mills 1.8 million square foot shopping and entertainment complex in nearby Grapevine, TX. (

The Colleyville Nature Center has 46 acres filled with beautiful ponds and walking trails. There’s an amphitheater, fishing pier, and playground too.

For the Kids  

Ride With Pride in nearby Southland, TX offers private horseback riding lessons and special camp programs. ( Closer to home is NTA Taekwondo. They have several programs for kids. (

Lennar has plans available on 50-foot-wide and 75-foot-wide lots.

The 3500-square-foot Melrose plan( ) has 4 beds, 4.5 baths, and a 2-car attached garage. Right now, they have three quick-move in homes starting at just under $700K.

The 4420-square-foot Abington plan sits on a 75-foot-wide lot and has 4 beds, 3.5 baths, and a 3-car garage. (

Young, but Wise

Creekside at Colleyville is a young neighborhood, but a wise choice. Commutable to Fort Worth, stores within walking distance, great schools, and low taxes. (About 2.2% -- a steal in Texas.)
