How to deflect Realtors, Agents, Sales People
How to deflect Realtors / Agents
You probably wondering why so many agents are calling you?
As soon as you let it be known that you're selling your home privately, you will be greeted by an onslaught of agents. Many of these agents just want to LIST your home.
They will have many reasons why they are more qualified to sell your home than you are. And they do know more than you do, but so what.
You want to sell privately if possible. So use this distraction to start with.
You can avoid most of the calls by doing the following;
Anytime you advertise your property (flyers, sign, internet, etc). Say that your home is offered by “Owner/Agent”. This will lead the real estate agents to think that you are one of them. And if you were one of them it would mean you don’t need them.
This will save you the time and hassle of all the phone calls from agents, sales departments from other countries and automated texting (messaging) platforms sending you messages.
If you still get calls, you can deflect them by saying you already have chosen the agent that will list your property with if you get to that point.
If this doesn’t work, you can always report them to the local board of Realtors.
I know this sounds a little extreme, but some agents can be very pushy and condescending. I wish you the best of luck in selling your house.
