The Colonial Country Club Fort Worth Texas
Gotta Check It Out – The Colonial Country Club
Joining the Colonial Country Club and Golf Course is not like signing up for the local gym. It is by invitation only. The private, member-owned club does allow guests, but only if accompanied by a “resident member.” There are several rules for guests. Mainly, they expect you to dress like you belong and not act like a horse’s you-know-what. Oh, and mute that darn cell phone. But you can text to your heart’s content.
The Colonial National Invitation Tournament is held here. (Although it is now named for its host, the Charles Schwab Challenge, for obvious marketing reasons.) Top pro golfers from around the world have duked it out at the Colonial Country Club each year since 1946. The 2020 stop on the PGA Tour wrapped up in June with winner Daniel Berger. (Go USA!) It is an older (built in 1936), but still beautiful golf course. Totally worth cozying up to a resident member neighbor. Here’s a great video that gives you the bird’s eye tour of all 18 holes.
