The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge - Gotta Check it Out

Gotta Check it Out Ah, the beauty of nature.

There’s something calming about walking among the trees and hearing the birds sing. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is 3,621 acres of forests, prairies, and wetlands. It was established in 1974 by a group of 40 land lovers. Get your nature groove on with over 20 miles of hiking trails. You can explore on your own, but staff-guided tours are offered. The price of admission is reasonable, but if the trails keep calling you back, consider buying a Friendship membership. If you’ve never seen a Bison, this is your chance. The Nature Center maintains a whole herd of ‘em. They’re big, they’re furry, and they eat a lot – 19.000 pounds a year. Don’t miss this opportunity to get some fresh air, exercise, and a sense of peace. (By the way, the Nature Center could use a few volunteers.
