What if we told you that there was a beautiful master-planned community with good schools, reasonably priced homes, just 8 minutes away from Downtown Fort Worth? We ain’t lyin’. It exists...it’s called Berkshire. Kinda like small spurs near a pair of big boots. To take this silly analogy further – oh, never mind. Bottom line: Berkshire offers the best of small town living close to the big city of Fort Worth.

Get a little exercise on the hiking and biking trails that wind through the neighborhood.

There’s plenty to do close to Berkshire. Or head downtown to the city of Fort Worth to get your groove on.
You’ve got a lot of options here. The Victory Shops at Basswood is new and growing, but you can grab yourself a shot of espresso at Starbucks. There’s also the Fossil Creek Center on Western Center Boulevard and the Alliance Town Center.
If you really want to get down home, it’s liver or gizzards or chicken fried streak at Lisa’s Chicken Restaurant. For cheap breakfast or a yummy tuna melt for lunch it’s gotta be Jr’s Café of Saginaw. For you city slickers, head downtown to The Capital Grille for that fancy dining you take your spouse to once a year. We’re talkin’ dry-aged steaks and Crème Brûlée.
Beyond the clubhouse and parks within Berkshire, you’ve got The Fort Worth Zoo and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The parks system is amazing in and around downtown. The Trinity Trails website will guide you. Airfield Falls Trailhead & Conservation Park and Eagle Mountain Park are good bets.
For the Kids
Give little Johnnie or Janie a birthday to remember at the Rodeo Zone Mini Ranch. They call themselves the “Biggest Little Ranch in Texas.” Let them go crazy at Kid Mania. Plenty of indoor activities to wear ‘em out and pizza and fried dough to fill ‘em up.
