Grapevine is located in Tarrant County in the Fort Worth metropolitan area. Highways 114 and 121 run through Grapevine for easy commuting, and part of the Fort Worth International Airport lies within the city limits. For education, the Faith Christian School is a private school in the city. The Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District and Carroll ISD primarily serve Grapevine. In 2007, Newsweek ranked Grapevine High School as the 41st best high school in the nation—the same year CNN Money rated Grapevine as one of "America's Best Places to Live." The city's name is derived from the prevalent grapes that grow naturally in the area. Wineries abound, as do restaurants, shops and year-round entertainment options, especially in the historic downtown area. Visitors will be blown away by the Gaylord Texan and Great Wolf Lodge, which are more than just hotels: they're full-scale entertainment areas frequented by tourists and locals alike. Grapevine Mills Mall is an enormous shopping center that also includes a separate Bass Pro Shop. Grapevine Lake is a popular attraction for those who enjoy boating, fishing and swimming.
