Crestwood: Beautiful Homes in a Neighborhood
That is Pleasing to the Eye
If you’re looking for a neighborhood that is fun to live in and marvelous to look at, Crestwood is the place for you. Located in a bend of the West Fork of the Trinity River, Crestwood is less than two miles from Fort Worth’s Central Business District, and always just a short jaunt to everything else Fort Worth has to offer.
Gently curving tree-lined streets and plenty of neighborhood sponsored activities and events are very appealing to Crestwood’s residents. Within walking distance are the internationally renowned Kimbell Art Museum, Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
A Brief History of Crestwood
When Fort Worth was a frontier outpost, the primary public roadway west is what later became White Settlement Road. At that time, Crestwood was farm and ranch land. In the late 1930s, the first homes were built, and development was sporadic until well after World War II. Parks and preservation of natural surroundings were important in the beginning and still are.
Nestled into the West Fork of the Trinity River, the river’s winding path bounds the neighborhood on three sides, forming a natural buffer between it and the surrounding city. White Settlement Road, along its southern edge, is the primary route to this historic community.
Homes in Crestwood
With a median price of just over $500,000, bungalows have sold for $120,000 and large, spacious homes for over $2,500,000. Homes are set back from the road, providing spacious front and back yards. They are immaculately kept, with residents being very particular about their landscaping. Most homes are flanked by large trees, providing shade for outdoor activities, and walking the dog.
One home exemplifying what a buyer can expect when paying the median price was recently listed for $494,000. It features 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with 2,225 square feet of living space. The home was completely remodeled in 2015, which is not uncommon for homes in Crestwood. In addition to the rare new home being built, many owners have remodeled in recent years.
The home has a detached 380 square foot guest house with a full bath and open layout. It features a stunning kitchen, is full of natural light, has a large picture window, custom cabinetry, custom made island, hardwoods, tile, granite, and high-end appliances. Lots of attention to detail in the home is evident through immaculate custom built-ins, upgraded crown molding, and a fantastic master suite.
On the higher end of the pricing spectrum is a 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath sitting on a 1.25 acre lot with mature trees. It lists for just under $2.5 million and features hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen with marble countertops, and professional-grade appliances. It has multiple living and dining areas, and large windows that provide great views throughout.
On the second level, the large master suite boasts a private balcony and a spacious, updated master bath. Each of the bedrooms features its own private bathroom and walk-in closet. There is also a separate guesthouse with a full bathroom and kitchenette.

The Crestwood Association is a voluntary, nonprofit, neighborhood association (not an HOA) dedicated to “improving the overall quality of life for all Crestwood residents and maintaining Crestwood as one of Fort Worth’s most desirable places to live.”
Each year the association sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Parade and Picnic, National Night Out, and a Halloween Kick-Off Party.
The association publishes The Crestwood News, which is distributed to Crestwood residents in hardcopy form four times each year. Their website is very robust and up-to-date.
Nearby Kelly Park Trailhead and Baseball Fields
Kelly Park is home to a complex of little league baseball fields and the Kelly Park Trailhead, offering access to a scenic portion of the West Fork Trinity Trail. Most ball games are free, and concessions are generally available. A wildflower area, with blooms beginning in April and continuing through June, is a nice addition to the Park. Most of Kelly Park is located on the opposite side of the Trinity River from Crestwood.
