Children who live in Mira Vista attend schools in the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD). Unfortunately, the middle and high schools for this neighborhood do not receive high ratings. GreatSchools.org gives Monnig Middle School a 2 out of 10 rating. Arlington Heights High School received a rating of 3 out of 10. However, Ridglea Elementary School is above average with a GreatSchools.org rating of 7 out of 10. As we say here at Cities Real Estate, if you can afford to live in Mira Vista, you can afford to send your children to private school. There are good private schools in the area such as Fort Worth Country Day (grades K-12). Fort Worth Academy is an excellent option for grades K-8.
The 700-acre Mira Vista community offers fishing lakes and nature trails. If you want to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city, take the short 15-minute drive to downtown Fort Worth. With an abundance of museums, shopping, restaurants, parks, and more, you and the family will find something to do every weekend. Explore your options on the FortWorth.com website. They provide a wealth of information on many activities in the area including museums and galleries as well as Fort Worth nightlife.
You don’t have to go downtown to find great places to spend your hard-earned dough. Shopping, dining, and entertainment await you at The Shops at Clearfork. Stores include Burberry, Neiman Marcus, and Louis Vuitton.
We have to recommend Doc B’s Restaurant and Bar based on the Candied Bacon alone. No, seriously, it’s candy and bacon at the same time. Beyond bacon, there’s the 1-pound Angry Meatball. (We don’t know what it’s angry about, but you’re going to eat it, so like, who cares?) For a more serene option, we suggest Mama B’s Chicken Parm. Grab yourself a side of Crispy Jalapeño Potatoes. Dessert is key lime pie, homemade ice cream, or double-decker chocolate cake. Or all of them.
