Berkeley Place History
The land now known as Berkeley Place was originally part of the 1850 Mexican Government's Peters Colony. It was then purchased to build a grain and dairy farm. That farmhouse still exists today at 2230 Warner Road. The farmhouse was restored in the 1920s by its owner, "Pappy" Lee O'Daniel, who became Governor of Texas. Berkeley Place is also home to The Forest Park Apartments, built in 1928, and the first "skyscraper" apartments in Fort Worth.
